Chicago

Why choose ProMount for TV mounting in Chicago?

TV mounting is not a side service for us. It is what our technicians do every day, which is why a Chicago address on a work order doesn't change how the job goes. We already know that a Streeterville high-rise means concrete and metal studs, that a Ukrainian Village two-flat means plaster and lath, and that a Fulton Market loft means brick and exposed conduit.

We show up with the anchors, bits and mounts for the wall you actually have, so a surprise behind the drywall doesn't turn into a second appointment. Every install is leveled, centered on the furniture below it, pulled tight to the anchors we set, and tested before we pack up.

Wall types, not guesses

Wood studs, metal studs, plaster and lath, brick, block and poured concrete — each gets its own hardware.

Two installers for big panels

85-inch and larger TVs are scheduled with the manpower and lift they need instead of being forced solo.

Building paperwork handled

If your association or management office requires a certificate of insurance, tell us at booking and we send it ahead.

Finished, not just hung

Cables managed or concealed, packaging removed, and the floor left the way we found it.

Chicago

Chicago high-rise & condo TV installation

Downtown towers and newer condo buildings are built from poured concrete and light-gauge metal studs. Neither takes a standard wood-stud lag bolt. Concrete needs hammer-drilled holes and rated masonry anchors; metal studs need toggle hardware placed where the mount plate can span more than one stud.

Buildings differ on rules, so we don't assume yours. Some require a certificate of insurance naming the association, some require a reserved freight or service elevator window, and many have no requirement at all. Tell us what your management office asks for when you book and we handle it before the appointment rather than at your door.

Because these are finished interiors, we work protected: drop cloths down, dust collected at the drill, and no wire path opened until we know where it comes out.

Chicago

TV mounting on metal studs, brick & concrete

Chicago's housing stock swings between eras, and the wall behind the TV is what decides how the job runs. Metal-stud walls in condos and offices hold weight well when the mount is anchored correctly and badly when it isn't. Brick and block, common in bungalows, lofts and garden units, are among the strongest surfaces to mount on — we drill into the brick face or the mortar joint depending on condition. Plaster and lath in older buildings is brittle at the surface, so we locate real framing before anything is fastened.

If you aren't sure what your wall is made of, you don't need to be. Send a photo with your quote request and we'll tell you.

Metal studs

Toggle-style hardware, mount plates spanning multiple studs, no drywall-only anchors behind a TV.

Brick, block & concrete

Hammer drill, rated masonry anchors, holes placed to respect coursing and grout lines.

Plaster & lath

Framing located first, pilot holes sized for old lumber, minimal surface disturbance.

Samsung Frame installation in Chicago

The Frame only works visually if it sits flush and nothing is visible around it. We install with the slim-fit wall mount so the panel sits tight to the wall, position it so the bezel reads like a hung piece of art rather than a screen, and deal with the One Connect box — either concealed nearby or, where the wall allows, tied into an in-wall solution with the invisible cable routed out of sight.

Frame installs are a large share of our downtown condo work, and they are also where the wall type matters most: on concrete or brick, cable routing has to be planned before the first hole.

Chicago

Large TV installation

Anything from 75 inches up changes the job. The mount has to be rated well above the panel weight, the anchor points have to span more than one stud or bite into masonry, and the TV needs two people on it to get onto the bracket safely. We schedule large panels accordingly instead of trying to make them a one-person hour.

Placement also matters more at this size. A 98-inch screen hung at the height that suited a 55 will be uncomfortable to watch, so we measure your seating distance before deciding on the centerline.

Chicago

Fireplace TV mounting

Above-fireplace installs are common in Chicago rowhomes, rehabbed two-flats and suburban-style single-family homes on the Northwest Side. Brick, stone, tile and drywall surrounds are all mountable, but the mount choice depends on how high the mantel sits. If a fixed mount would leave you looking up, we recommend a tilting or pull-down mount so the viewing angle is right when you're actually sitting down.

We check heat exit points before mounting, and where masonry blocks an in-wall path, we run a clean surface channel that can be painted to match.

Chicago

Wire concealment & cable management

On a standard interior drywall wall, HDMI and low-voltage cable are routed inside the wall and power is handled with a recessed in-wall kit, so nothing hangs below the TV and no extension cord runs through the drywall. On masonry, exterior walls and some firewalls between units, in-wall routing isn't possible — there we use a low-profile paintable channel that disappears against the wall.

If you want a game console, receiver or cable box relocated to a cabinet, say so when you book so the right cable lengths are on the truck.

Chicago

Commercial TV installation

We install displays for Chicago bars, restaurants, offices, gyms, retail spaces, medical waiting rooms and apartment amenity rooms. Commercial work is usually about layout and cabling as much as mounting: sightlines from every seat, ceiling drops where wall space is gone, and cable runs that survive an inspection.

Multi-display projects can be scheduled outside business hours so your space isn't out of service during a shift.

Pricing

TV mounting pricing & what affects cost

We quote each job from the TV, the wall and the wire solution rather than a flat rate that gets adjusted on site.

TV size and weight

Panels up to about 65 inches are a standard one-installer job. From 75 inches up, expect two installers, heavier hardware and more anchor points.

Mount style

Fixed and low-profile mounts are the simplest. Tilting mounts add a little. Full-motion arms cost more in hardware and require additional anchoring because of the leverage they create.

Wall material

Drywall over wood studs is the baseline. Metal studs, plaster and lath, brick, block and poured concrete each need different hardware and more time.

Fireplace installations

Height, mantel depth, heat exit points and stone or tile surfaces all factor in, and a pull-down or tilting mount is often the right call over a fixed one.

Wire concealment

In-wall routing with a recessed power kit is the cleanest and the most involved. External paintable channel is faster and cheaper. Masonry walls usually can't be fished.

Soundbars and accessories

A soundbar mounted in the same visit costs far less than a separate trip. Shelves, recessed boxes and device relocation are quoted the same way.
